The University of Connecticut is modernizing the university's aging phone infrastructure, allowing callers to more easily navigate a university where faculty and staff are working from home.

UConn's Stamford campus will install a 5G lab with AT&T to help students and faculty research the emerging technology.

Formerly an IT official at Bucknell Unversity in Pennsylvania and Miami University in Ohio, Chris Bernard will start in the new role on July 19.
